From your own experience what are some differences between a break up with someone you have slept with as opposed to one you haven’t?
How do you think your life would have been different if you saved yourself for marriage and married a godly person after developing a strong friendship?
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.
He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. (Genisis 3:1-7)
Look at how satan tempted eve “Did God really say you can’t eat from any trees in th garden? God knows you will be like him and know both good and evil.”
It was God’s will that Eve would only experience good, but because Satan got her to doubt God’s heart toward her she chose to experience sin and death.
The world is waving a shiny red apple in front of us in every romantic movie and novel and the enemy says, “Did God really say you can never have sex with someone your in love with? Look what he wants you to miss out on.” As we eat that apple the taste of passion is sweet for a moment, but it poisons our soul. We weren’t meant to give our bodies to someone so we can worry the next day if they’re going to call us, or to see them buying flowers for someone else. God didn’t create us a sexual beings for rejection that feels like dying. God created us as sexual beings so when we find the one we want to spend the rest of our lives with we commit to each other publicly in front of God and people. We give each other a ring that represents a never ending commitment. Then we give ourselves completely and exclusively to each other as a gift, and experience what God meant when he said it is better to give then receive. God doesn’t want something from us…he wants something for us. Some fruits are forbidden because he wants for us to experience only good, not evil.
